The Origin of Fido's
🐾 The Origin of Fido’s
Before hashtags and viral videos, there was a dog named Fido — a loyal, golden-hearted companion who belonged to none other than Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States.
Fido followed Lincoln everywhere through the streets of Springfield, Illinois — tail wagging, head high, and heart full. He greeted neighbours, made friends with strangers, and quickly became loved by everyone who met him.
When Lincoln left for Washington, Fido stayed behind with family friends, becoming one of America’s earliest celebrity dogs. His name soon became a nickname for every faithful dog — the one who’s always happy to see you, who never judges, and who loves you just as you are.
That’s the spirit behind Fido’s (pronounced “Fye-dohz”) — a tribute to loyalty, joy, and unconditional love.
Every wag, every lick, every loyal look reminds us why Fido became a name known around the world — and why we’re proud to carry it forward today.
At Fido’s, we celebrate the bond between people and their dogs — past, present, and always. 🐶❤️
